What personally identifiable information does PT collect?
PT may ask for certain information when you join our mailing list, request our survey results, or register for our online customer support service. After you provide us with your contact information, such as your name, e-mail address, company name, mailing address, and telephone number, we are able to send you the information you requested, such as news about PT products and services, results from our research surveys and, if you are a registered customer, access to our online customer support service. If at anytime you wish to stop receiving information from PT, simply send an e-mail to unsubscribe@pt.com and we will remove your name from our mailing list.
What are cookies and how does PT use them?
PT uses cookies to store information about you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer's hard drive so you can be identified by us if you return. This allows us to provide convenient, time saving features to our users, such as storing your contact information for future visits.
Each online form on our web site gives you an option to have your contact information saved upon entering or updating fields. If you choose this service, your provided information will be stored and redisplayed for you when you return. If you do not choose this option, no information will be stored, and you will be prompted to enter your information each time you return to that or another form. The information that the online forms collect is used to facilitate communications between you and PT, and will not be sold or given to external companies. PT also collects IP addresses for system administration purposes.
Can I modify the way my browser works with cookies?
You do have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is sent, or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject all cookies you may be unable to use those services that require registration in order to participate, such as our online customer support service. You can still use other parts of our web site even if you do not accept cookies.
How does PT protect my privacy?
When you are on a PT Web site and are asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with PT alone. PT will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires such a disclosure.
PT does not share personal information you provide to us with other companies. Monthly survey results, in the aggregate, are shared amongst other participants requesting the results.
What are my choices regarding use of my information?
PT may, from time to time, send you e-mail regarding our products and services. In addition, if you indicated upon registration that you are interested in receiving information from PT, we may occasionally send you direct mail about our products and services that we feel may be of interest to you. Only PT (or agents working on behalf of PT and under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings and only if you indicated that you do not object to these offers. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply tell us when you give us your personal information or you can send an e-mail message at any time to unsubscribe@pt.com.
What security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of my information?
The information that you provide to PT may be used, stored and/or processed outside of the country from where you originally entered the information, as the Web server for this site may not be located in the same country in which you live. However, PT takes steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of where the information is processed.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, PT cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
